Black Spruce (Picea mariana)
Black Spruce essential oil mainly contains monoterpenes and esters, especially bornyl acetate. The oil comes from the distillation of its needles and branches.
Sweet Gale (Myrica gale)
The essential oil of Sweet gale comes from the steam distillation of the leaves and green fruits of the plant. This typical essential oil from Canada is unique and differs from that produced in Europe. Its incredible scent of herbs, camphor and fresh notes reminiscent of eucalyptus is very popular. It mainly contains monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and some ketones.
Balsam Poplar (Populus balsamifera)
The essential oil of Balsam Poplar comes from the steam distillation of the buds. It is a rare and precious essential oil containing a high proportion of unusual compounds such as sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpenols. These are only present in certain essential oils and are difficult to extract.
Jack Pine (Pinus banksiana)
Jack pine essential oil mainly contains monoterpenes and esters. It is distinguished by a higher proportion of pinene and the presence of myrcene and limonene. The oil, obtained from the distillation of its needles and branches, offers a scent with fruity notes and fresh herbs. The major component of this essential oil is α-pinene (monoterpene).
Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea)
Balsam fir essential oil comes from steam distillation of its needles. The resulting oil is mainly composed of monoterpenes and esters. The majority compound of this essential oil is β-pinene (monoterpene).
Labrador Tea (Rhododendron groenlandicum)
Labrador tea is an evergreen shrub, not a tree. The leaves and twigs of Labrador tea were used by the First Nations as a decoction and infusion. The major compound of this essential oil is sabinene (monoterpene).
Boreal Synergy consists of Labrador tea essential oil, Black spruce essential oil and Balsam fir essential oil. This blend is found in our Borealis gift box, for the ultimate olfactory experience of a walk in the boreal forest.
